Salem is a dedicated research scientist and Associate Professor with expertise in structural and functional characterization of complex systems' surfaces and interfaces. Her research focuses on designing advanced composite and stimuli-responsive biomaterials for drug delivery, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and other applications requiring controlled protection and release. She has extensive experience in developing 2D and 3D structures mimicking natural cellular environments, such as polymersomes, capsules, and multilayers. With a PhD in Chemistry from TU Dresden, she has led projects funded by organizations like DAAD, Newton Fund, and Turkish Scholarship. Dr. Salem excels in academic writing, teamwork, and teaching, contributing to peer-reviewed journals, mentoring postgraduates, and serving on editorial boards.
