Bolmin is an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, where she leads the Mechanisms Inspired by Nature for Dynamics (MIND) lab. Her research integrates structural dynamics, biomechanics, multi-scale modeling, design, and manufacturing to develop bio-inspired mechanical systems for applications in aerospace, micro-robotics, and prosthetics. She uses biology-inspired approaches combined with engineering problem-solving. Prior to CMU, she was a postdoctoral researcher at Sandia National Laboratories. She holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from UIUC, and a B.S. from ENSTA Bretagne, France.
