个人介绍： Motivated and passionate geologist, researcher and University Professor with experience in geological risk assessment and natural resource management. With skills in GIS and data analysis, I'm excited to apply my knowledge and skills in a dynamic and challenging environment. I look forward to contributing to projects in site assessment and remediation, natural resource management, and environmental compliance, and I'm eager to learn and grow in a leading industry company. My objective is to know the origin and causes of the processes associated with geological risks on planet Earth; provide communities with sufficient tools for decision making for territorial planning and with environmental criteria.

个人介绍： Dear Search Committee, Throughout my role as a faculty member, I have instructed (and still) many electronics and computer engineering courses both theory and Lab. I have also supervised many graduation projects, at the BSc level, in various areas of image processing (my area of interest) during my work as a faculty member. I am a Canadian citizen holding a PhD degree from University of Waterloo. Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope to have the opportunity to discuss the opening with you in person. Please feel free to contact me through email at sameer@uwaterloo.ca. Regards, Salah Ameer, PhD

个人介绍： He is a dedicated educator and engineering graduate with a diverse academic background spanning the medical sciences, mechatronics, and information engineering. This multidisciplinary foundation is complemented by extensive practical teaching experience at both the university and secondary school levels in Ethiopia and China. His technical proficiency includes computer-aided design (CAD/CAM), automation software (MATLAB, LabVIEW), and programming languages (C++, Python). While his CV emphasizes pedagogical skills and engineering competencies over traditional academic research outputs, his profile represents a unique blend of biomedical, mechanical, and information technology knowledge applied within educational settings.

个人介绍： She is an academic researcher and lecturer whose work spans public administration, economic policy, and sustainable development. Currently pursuing a PhD in Public Administration at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, her research examines governance models and policy responses to complex challenges. Her publications demonstrate a multidisciplinary approach, investigating topics such as the factors influencing SMEs' choice of financial institutions, the impact of social capital on consumer engagement, and multicriteria frameworks for governing public-private partnerships (PPPs) toward sustainable development. Recent work includes analyzing government responses to exogenous shocks like the COVID-19 pandemic in Ghana and exploring pathways for sustainable mining practices. Her research combines empirical analysis from the Ghanaian context with broader theoretical contributions to policy and planning sciences.

个人介绍： He is a tenure-track assistant professor specializing in power electronics and renewable energy integration. Holding a PhD from the University of Bologna, his research addresses critical challenges in modern power conversion systems. His work spans the analysis and modeling of advanced converter topologies, including the harmonic pollution in active front-end converters for electric vehicle on-board chargers and the switching ripple in three-level neutral-point-clamped inverters. He also investigates applications such as wireless charging systems for drones and dual-active-bridge converters for providing fast synthetic inertia to the grid. His research, published in journals like Energies and Electronics and recognized with Best Paper and cover article awards, combines theoretical analysis with practical relevance, aiming to improve the efficiency, reliability, and functionality of power electronic systems for sustainable energy and transportation.

个人介绍： He is a dedicated researcher in electrical engineering, currently completing his PhD at the Federal University of Paraná with a research stay at Eindhoven University of Technology. His academic work centers on advanced system identification and modeling of dynamic networks, with a particular emphasis on enforcing passivity—a crucial property for the stability of physical systems. His Master's research resulted in a novel subspace identification method with passivity enforcement, published in the prestigious journal Automatica. His ongoing PhD work further develops methods for directly estimating passive local modules within complex networks. He has also contributed to applied research projects, publishing on the modeling of extra-high voltage equipment for reliable power system simulations in Electric Power Systems Research. His research bridges theoretical control systems with practical applications in power engineering.

个人介绍： He is a PhD candidate in Electrical Engineering at the University of Bologna, specializing in applied measurements for power systems. His doctoral research centers on the advancement of Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) technology for enhanced monitoring and control in active distribution networks. Complementing his core research, he has developed strong competencies in machine learning and predictive modeling, as evidenced by relevant certifications and his application of these techniques to challenges like predictive maintenance. His practical engineering background includes internships in the energy and industrial automation sectors (Saipem, ABB, Schlumberger), where he gained experience in electrical design, certification, and process optimization. This blend of deep theoretical research in power system instrumentation and applied data science skills positions him at the intersection of traditional electrical engineering and modern data-driven grid management.
